Hell's Horsemen

Our feelings and the evil that lies within us is closed up and locked within us. So then comes the question, is that hell? Do we all have an inner hell? Is it just waiting for the right key to expose our inner truths and breaks lose our inner demons?
The Bible tells us that death will ride in on a pale horse. Death is expressed as being one of Hell’s Horsemen.
Hell’s Horseman are War, Famine, Plague, and Death. The Bible tells us that these Horsemen carry the key to unlocking hell.
Throughout all of Jekyll and Hyde we see Jekyll losing who he is to his other self, Hyde. What is takes to get to the point of his inner hell breaking free is the Horsemen.

War-Jekyll is at constant battle with himself about whether or not to give into the pleasures of Hyde, and the rush power he feels when he acts out as him.

Famine-Famine is more than just a need for food. You can have famine for anything, love, companionship, or drugs. In Jekyll’s case, he has famine for the power he feels when he is Hyde. Almost animalistic, he tries to hold back from his one true desire.

Plague-After getting a taste of what it feels to be Hyde; he can’t stop craving the feeling. Just like an alcoholic disease, Jekyll knows he needs to stop craving the power of Hyde but he can’t be truly cured for his desire that aches through his entire body.

Death- After all the Horseman take turns at breaking down hell’s door, Jekyll is overpowered and that leads to his death. His inner demon, Hyde, is able to come out of the locked door that Jekyll tried desperately to put up.

Struggle

Struggle to breathe.
Struggle to survive.
Struggle to love.
Struggle to find yourself.

Air evaporates around you,
Limp with exhaustion.
Feeling ten feet under water,
Continuing to try to keep your head above it.

Like running for your life,
Pain exists through your entire body.
Blood pumps through your body,
And you are strong but you feel so weak.

To even begin to love others,
You must love yourself.
Looking in the mirror,
I can’t help but hate everything I see.

Wrapped in a warp of confusion,
Trying to hold onto any solid ground around.
Falling off and into a same pattern,
No different from anyone else.

Struggle to breathe.
Struggle to survive.
Struggle to love.
Struggle to find yourself.

Author's Note: I've been going through an enormous amount lately and I was able to vent my emotions as well as show my double self and how I feel about it, showing how Jekyll feels about his double self as well.

Shared Emotions

Sometimes in life we are pressured into feeling a certain way that we never expected to feel. So much happens around us in this life that we aren’t able to break free and be who we want to be and live our lives how we want to live them. Being trapped in this ongoing cycle of pressures and neglect from others leaves a long ever shattered part of you. Finding yourself trapped between where you want to go, and where others expect you to go can be a long endless tribulation of sorrow, never knowing where you could have gone if you just followed your instincts.Waking up in the morning in exhaustion knowing you have to continue rummaging through your life in order to get past to where you want to go. An endless sequence of feeling as if your heart is shattering into bits of pieces and leaving you empty. Nowhere to go. Nowhere to hide, and escape the mess of tattered life you once had. Like a dark bottomless pool pulling you under the dark surface, sucking the life out of you till there is no life left to take and your body is stranded. Without a soul, your body stays there. Observing, without any feeling. Empty gazes on life around you. Trying to grasp sense of the life going on around you, but feeling it slip through your grasp and dissolve before your eyes. The once youthful feeling that used to energize every cells in your body, now destroyed. Leaving you lifeless and alone.
